We’re guys and we love cars. Does that go without saying? Maybe. The automotive industry is becoming more and more competitive each model year and 2013 is no exception. But not all manufacturers and models are enjoying success. Quite frankly, some vehicles are down-right ugly while others are veritable works of art.
We’ve compiled our list of the best-looking vehicles of model year 2013 and we’re going to start with the best SUV’s. What do you think of our list? What vehicle(s) would you add? Do you think there are any that don’t deserve to be on this list? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
Full-Size SUV – Luxury Segment – 2013 Audi Q7
Our winner of the best looking full-size SUV in the luxury segment is the 2013 Audi Q7. The Q7 was a wonderful addition to Audi’s lineup and is a gorgeous SUV in its own right. Starting at $46,800 USD, the vehicle is clearly in the luxury model segment for SUV’s. Three 3.0 liter V-6 engines are available, with two gas and one diesel option putting out between 240-hp (diesel) and 333-hp. The Q7 is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and auto-manual function. Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive is also standard on all three trim levels (3.0T Premium, 3.0 TDI Premium & 3.0T Prestige).
Full-Size SUV – Standard Segment – 2013 Dodge Durango
Dodge, as a company has struggled in recent history. Their vehicles have not been very well-received as they continue to have quality issues, gas mileage challenges and, of course, the overall industry challenges due to the economy. The 2013 Dodge Durango is a gem in Dodge’s current rough. The vehicle is an attempt to return to what Dodge knows and does well – muscle performance and looks. The stout stance of the SUV gives it the ‘tough’ look many SUV owners crave (especially us guys) and the HEMI V-8 doesn’t hurt either. If this SUV rides and handles half as well as it looks it’s a great option for your next vehicle.
Compact SUV – Luxury Segment – 2013 Infinity EX37
The ultra-competitive compact SUV segment will see a number of model refreshes in 2013. We think Infinity’s EX is the best of the bunch. According to AutoBlog.com, both the EX and FX will be powered by the 325-hp 3.7-liter V6. We love the styling of the EX37 and the relatively small package it comes in. If you’re looking for a stylish compact SUV that packs a nice punch you may want to check out the EX from Infinity.
Compact SUV – Standard Segment – 2013 Ford Edge
We’ve always liked the look of the Ford Edge since it came out. It’s modern styling and flowing lines make it very easy to look at. Higher-trim models offer larger wheels and other styling queues that really help set the vehicle apart from the compact SUV crowd. It’s hard not to turn and look as you watch an Edge Sport drive by. They’re also not new to the market, so they’ve had some time to get the bugs worked out. It’s hard to beat the Edge’s features, performance and style for the price in this segment at any trim level.
