The Gerber 600 Basic could have up to six hundred uses but only a few are important in the daily chores. The tool also becomes very handy in outdoor activities like hunting or fixing something that is broken. The Geber 600 Basic Needle-nose pliers are very versatile and offer very good performance. It has a strong and solid design but still maintains an attractive appearance. It is certainly a tool worth having at home, when going out for camping or even in a workshop.

Materials & Build Quality

It is crafted out of stainless steel but some varieties are painted to give them a better or a different look. It is relatively difficult to find a strong and handy multi tool but the Gerber needle-nose certainly satisfies this. It is incorporated with a wire cutter and crimper at the inner end of the needle nose.

Features

The tool is basically a one hand-opened multi-plier. It has additional components that make it handy and very unique. Needle-nose pliers, a fine edge and a serrated knife, a screwdriver, large small and medium flat drivers are some of the common components of multi-pliers. In addition, the Geber 600 Basic Needle-nose has a metric ruler, a small lanyard ring, a bottle and a can opener, a file and a wire cutter. Looks like too much to have in a single tool, but the Geber 600 has all these components. There are even a couple of optional accessories like screwdriver attachments.

Summary

Strengths

The Geber 600 multi-pliers weigh only nine ounces and six inches long so it can be carried around easily. It is made from Stainless steel and may sometimes be painted in a non-reflective black paint so it is absolutely rust proof.  The single hand opening design makes it easy to use and its interchangeable cutters improve its efficiency.

Weaknesses

Having too many tools held together may be cumbersome to deal with for many people. Again the components are in small sizes making them completely unusable in some situations. Because of the positioning and fixity of the tools in the multi pliers, it may be difficult to use some of them depending on the kind of work being done.

Conclusion

It is a tool with much functionality and is very handy. For its price, it is a tool that is worth having also because of its combination of toughness and solid build quality.
