Weber Q 300 Gas Grill Review

After Weber introduced their first Q series of portable grills, the manufacturer noticed that many people were not taking them as the go-to brand for the best equipment of this type. Shortly after the realization, Weber changed gears to produce a more compact-sized, ultra-portable gas grill, the Q 300. The 2-burner grill is designed to be an appropriate item for a person who wants a real grill but is looking for something that is smaller than the common standard freestanding units. It is designed to have a fold-down cart and can give options for both direct and indirect grilling.

Description and Features

The Weber Q 300 gas grill, as the name suggests, uses gas when grilling barbecue and fills in as a compact cooker. It has two cast iron cooking grates that are porcelain enameled. Two burners are included to provide the option for indirect cooking. These, coupled with the two work tables that it comes with make it quite a good choice for people who want something that is not just a grill but has a preparation surface. In short, the key features include the following:

  • 2 burners, all of which are stainless steel
  • Primary cooking area measuring 393 square inches
  • A push button ignition mechanism
  • Side shelving
  • A 20lb refillable tank
  • A top lid or hood
  • 21,700 BTUs per hour

The Weber Q 300 comes with wheels that make it easy to move around when you want to use it. However, the design suggests that it is not a strictly portable grill, but it is a compromise between a traditional portable and a large grill with full features.

Pros of the Weber Q300 Gas Grill

  • For its weight and design, the grill is a good choice for apartment dwellers than for people who want to camp even though it has wheels.
  • Being a full open gas grill, it is definitely the closest one can get to real grilling.
  • It has two options for grilling, direct and indirect.

Cons of the Weber Q300 Gas Grill

The design is made to be a portable grill, although it has quite an ‘unportable’ weight and size.

The Weber Q300 Gas Grill is quite limited in features for a grill that is meant to be portable for outdoor use.

Conclusion

With the retail price suggested to be $449 and a realistic price of about $100 as consumers have reported buying it for, the grill is a good choice for anyone with lightweight grilling needs. The straightforward design makes it a model of simplicity since it does not rely much on extras.
