Westin Georgetown Hotel Review

This is an unpaid review of the Westin Georgetown hotel in Washington, D.C. Man-Made Reviews was not compensated in any way for this review.

I love our capital city – there’s so much to do and so much history there. I could visit over and over and not get sick of the city. When I decided to visit Washington D.C. for the first time I knew choosing the right hotel for my stay would be they key to a successful trip.  I look for a unique combination of features when it comes to hotels when traveling for business or for pleasure and I think I found that combination in the Westin Georgetown.

Location (Location, Location)

The Westin Georgetown is perfectly located just a few short blocks from Washington Circle Park. The walk to the Foggy Bottom Metro station takes less than 15 minutes, and from there, you can get to anywhere in the city. My regular morning routine allowed me to stretch my legs a bit and see some of the city before heading downtown toward the Mall.

In addition to location convenience, there’s also a lot going on in the vicinity of the hotel. Restaurants like Circle Bistro and the Foggy Bottom Pub are only a stone’s throw away. Other sites like Dupont Circle, Francis Playground, numerous embassies and the Shops at Georgetown Park each are only a few blocks away.

The Westin Georgetown underwent a full renovation not all that long ago and received an upgrade to many of the hotel’s features. The hotel has a nice pool for the family to enjoy or for business travelers to relax and unwind. As with all Westin properties, the Heavenly Bed is featured in all rooms. If you haven’t experienced their Heavenly Bed yet, I highly recommend you try one out. You may have to kick your own mattress to the curb! Rooms at the Westin Georgetown are also top-notch, with attention to detail being perfectly apparent. Their Heavenly Bath reminded me of a spa and, I know it’s a bit difficult to explain but the whole hotel even smelled nice. It was a very nice touch, indeed! The only feature I’d take off points for was the exercise facilities. I know it’s difficult to get a good workout while traveling to begin with (walking around the city helped), but finding a hotel with adequate workout facilities seems to be even more difficult these days. Don’t get me wrong, the facilities weren’t bad, they just weren’t great, either.

Hotel Service

The service staff at the Westin Georgetown was absolutely top-notch. You can tell when someone enjoys their job and isn’t simply ‘nice’ because they have to be. The staff at the Westin went the extra mile, not only for me, but for other guests I witnessed during the week as well. The service culture at the hotel is clearly right on track. If Aureli is there during your stay, be sure to shake her hand and thank her. She’s top-notch!
